Abstract:A production line at a confectionary products factory that produces crackers is dealing with excessive waste production due to errors, unjustly termination, and incorrect management. This results in two problems: wasted crackers and machine stoppages due to line congestion. These issues reduce the quality and availability percentages, impacting the overall OEE percentage of the line. The problem is twofold; it has a technical aspect (How can we catch and redirect the terminated crackers and decrease the errors occuring in the line?) and a managerial aspect (How can we help employees solve errors quicker? What needs to be done for that?). This research will have the aim to decrease the waste production and in effect increase the OEE percentage.
