Abstract:Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems provided by HITEC Power Protection support critical facilities of markets such as manufacturing, telecom, and data centre. It is crucial that the downtime of the UPS systems supporting these facilities is as low as possible and that they do not experience a loss of utility. The fourth industrial revolution resulted in digitalized automated systems, supporting the maintenance operations for the systems by indicating when certain threshold values triggering maintenance actions are met. Providing a reactive maintenance policy. The current developments in the industry open up opportunities to further develop the benefits of such digitalized systems. Instead of observing the current measurements, the current and historical measurements are used for analysis. Focusing on the effects and time based development of measurements affecting the system’s health and performance. Supporting the maintenance operations by predicting when certain threshold values triggering maintenance actions will be met. Resulting in a proactive maintenance policy. Such policy provides the opportunity to plan necessary maintenance actions in advance, lowering the downtime of the system. The research investigates implementation of such proactive maintenance policy at HITEC Power Protection in order to provide UPS systems with a minimized downtime to the HITEC Power Protection customers.
